You are woken up with a warm “Dumela“ (setswana = Hello) and a light breakfast waiting for you. After coffee, tea and breakfast you go back to the Hotel. We pack our luggage’s and head for the next adventure.
In the early morning we drive across the vast grasslands, past lonely baobab sentinels, to the edge of Ntwetwe Salt Pan. Along the way, your guide will explain the incredible adaptations of the species that are unique to the Kalahari Desert environment. On reaching the lunar landscape of Ntwetwe Salt Pan, you’ll enjoy breath-taking views of sparkling salt that extend as far as the eye can see. Go where no man has ventured before - far across the unexplored wilderness of the vast and empty saltpans. This afternoon, you will meet some of the Kalahari’s most fascinating inhabitants, the meerkats. Due to an ongoing habituation programme, it’s possible for guests to get up close and personal with the captivating creatures .Remember: they are not tame, just used to our non-threatening presence, and in the absence of termite mounds or trees, you may find one using your head as a sentry lookout post. Observe these social, superbly-adapted animals and see how they interact with each other and their environment. After your meerkat mission, it’s time to head to camp, or to be more accurate, the middle of nowheresville! Enjoy a drink before a barren and beauteous sunset, followed by a barbeque dinner cooked by your ever-talented guide. At the end of an action- packed day, snuggle up in your bedroll under the phenomenal Makgadikgadi skies, your very own star- spangled ceiling. Think silence, think slumber, dream baobabs.
Wake up to the Kalahari sun rising between your feet. Warm your hands on a mug of piping hot coffee and soak up the solitude. This morning, you’ll search for the stone tools that remain scattered on the surface of the salt pan and your guide will give a comprehensive explanation of the manufacture of the tools as well as the evolution of man himself. Remember that these are not your property. Throw them back from whence they came. Just when you think you couldn’t take any more stone-aged antiques, you’ll drive back to the edge of Ntwetwe Pan and explore the surrounding area in search of uniquely adapted desert species such as bat-eared foxes, springbok and kori bustards. Then, it’s back to Planet Baobab for a much-needed shower and a scrumptious breakfast. After packing our luggage’s we take a short drive to the Elephants playground. A day just to take it easy and observe Herds of Elephants from our campsite.
The morning after breakfast we take a short drive to Chobe National Park. Chobe National Park, in northern Botswana, has one of the largest concentrations of game in Africa. By size, it is the third largest park in the country, after the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and the Gemsbok National Park, and is the most biologically diverse. It is also Botswana's first national park. On arrival guest can enjoy the rest of the day joining activities offered by the lodge.
After breakfast we will be visiting the Victoria Falls for the whole day. Victoria Falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya (Tokaleya Tonga: The Smoke That Thunders), is a waterfall in southern Africa on the Zambezi River at the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. It has been described by CNN as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world.
