About this listing
This tour could also be started in Swakopmund.
We start our tour from the Walvis Bay waterfront and head towards the lagoon area to get a glimpse of the famous Flamingos of the Walvis Bay lagoon and wetlands area.
Our tour then continues to the amazing pink “lakes” of the Walvis Bay Salt Holdings.
Once we’re done we drive back through Town and head towards Dune 7, which is one of Namibia’s highest sand dunes measuring a mighty 383 meters high.
After this we take a drive behind the dunes towards the Swakop River and eventually arrive at the breathtaking Moon Landscape or Moon Valley as known by the locals.
From here we enter into the Swakop river bed and pass the Oasis known as Goanikontes to see the fragile lichens, as well as the ancient Welwitchia plants of the Namib.
A well deserved lunch is enjoyed at Goanikontes before we head back via Swakopmund with a quick visit to the Martin Luther Museum towards Walvis Bay.
Day 1Clients depart from Windhoek to Sossusvlei early morning.
Pick Up time is between 08:00 and 08:30 from anywhere within Windhoek. First we pass over the Eros Mountains and then the Khomas Hochland Range. After the mountains we drop down from the central Namibian plateau to grassy desert savannah. After arrival at the lodge clients get to enjoy a sun-downer drive.
Day 3
Early start and back to civilisation on scenic roads through the Khomas Hochland Mountain Range. We will arrive back in the city in the afternoon and you will be dropped off at your accommodation on our return.
Day 2
After an early breakfast we go on an excursion to Sossusvlei with sand dunes along both sides of the road. We will stop at the famous Dune 45. Those who feel fit may climb the dune and get a breathtaking view of the surrounding Namibian desert. We travel into the heart of the Namib Desert with the highest sand dunes on Earth at Sossusvlei. Experience the majestic yet tranquil Sossusvlei or the surreal Dead Vlei on foot. We enjoy a picnic lunch under the camel-thorn trees, before traveling back to our lodge via the gaping Sesriem Canyon.
