About this listing

Sandwich Harbour is situated in the well known Namib Naukluft Park and although many have heard about it, very few have ever gotten the opportunity to visit.

The Tour Starts at the parking area at the Walvis Bay Waterfront or any pre arranged point of departure. The first stop is at a point along the lagoon where the masses of flamingoes can be viewed.

A short drive further we ascend the well known Salt pan dune to the east of the Salt works to show the clients a top view of the alluring “pink water” in the salt pans.

A drive through the Kuiseb river delta follows, where we enjoy sights of sudden vegetation spurred on by the underground water underneath the Kuiseb river.

Occasional birds are found near small ponds close to the Salinas that are still part of the Salt works. Occasional springboks are found grazing in the grassy areas of the Delta.

We enter the Namib Naukluft Park at the northern border where it meets the Atlantic Ocean.

Tides permitting, a drive along the beach follows where the occasional Seal or Jackal is observed close to the beach. This drive brings us to the point where sand and sea meets and again tides permitting we will enter towards Sandwich Harbour. If the tide is high we enter the dunes and drive to a high point where Sandwich Harbour can be seen from the top of the dunes along the Ocean.

An exciting drive through the dunes follows where the magnificent splendor of the dunes of the Namib surrounds us.
