Day 1: Windhoek to Sesriem
(350Km – Accommodation: Namib Desert Lodge or Similar)
Collection time is between 08:00 and 08:30 from anywhere within Windhoek. We travel out over the Eros Mountains and along scenic roads on our way south-west to the desert. The authentic desert atmosphere en- route is considered as just one of the many highlights this short trip has to offer. The lodge itself sits at the foot of a red sandstone cliff, which consists of the fossilized dunes of an ancient Namib.

Day 2: Sesriem area- Sossusvlei
(Accommodation: Namib Desert Lodge or Similar)
Early morning start to catch the sunrise at nearby dunes. After breakfast continue to the 4×4 parking area where you trek the last 5km to Deadvlei and Sossusvlei on safari vehicles. Landscape photo opportunities abound in the cool of the morning, with dawn’s soft light first illuminating the dunes from crest down the back slope, then blazing orange everywhere, creating a powerful contrasting vista across the whole desert. Ancient mineral pans, stunted camel thorn trees and the chance of seeing a gemsbok or ostrich makes it essential to remember your camera! We spend the morning in and around Sossusvlei, also visiting dune 45. As the day wears on we return to Sesriem for lunch, escaping the heat of the afternoon. As the day cools off in the late afternoon we will take a short excursion to the Sesriem Canyon.
