Day 1
Flying into Windhoek, you’ll be welcomed by a Land Rover Representative and driven to the takeover point. Here, our expert instructors will show you how to get the best out of your Discovery. Every vehicle has air-conditioning, refrigerator and charging facilities, to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible.
You’ll then be ready to drive north to spend your first night at a traditional African lodge. Here you will have the opportunity to meet your fellow explorers over dinner. In the vast openness of Namibia, human contact will be otherwise scarce. After your meal, you can spend the evening watching wildlife come to drink at the nearby waterhole.
Day 2
After breakfast, you’ll head to the Erongo Mountains. A rugged, unspoilt landscape that the Discovery will take in its stride. You’ll have the chance to explore a range of landscapes and enjoy stunning views which have featured in countless Hollywood films.
Day 3
A series of giant sand dunes will line your path as you head towards Swakopmund, your destination for the night.
A picturesque coastal town with long beaches and some of the world’s finest examples of German colonial architecture, your overnight stay will be at a charming hotel in town.
Day 4
Departing Swakopmund, you will make your way to the Namib-Naukluft Park. As most of the park is savanna and desert, you will have the opportunity to put the Discovery to the test with some exhilarating dune driving.
From here, you will drive on to a traditional African lodge for the night.
Day 5
At Sossusvlei, you can scale Dune 45, one of the largest sand dunes in the world. Here, surrounded by skeletal camel thorn trees, you’ll be in an eerily beautiful landscape unlike anywhere else on earth.
Day 6
Off to Mariental, a small town that serves the indigenous Nama communities. The nearby Hardap Dam is the biggest reservoir in Namibia and home to many species of birds, including great white pelicans, fish eagles, flamingos, ospreys and reed cormorants.
Day 7
Departing the Kalahari region, you’ll head back to Windhoek for dinner and a final party with your fellow explorers to compare tales of your incredible adventure.
Day 8
Back in Windhoek, you can explore this incredible city and enjoy a little last minute shopping. Or sit back and relax in a cafe as you look back on your Namibian adventure and appreciate why this country is unlike anywhere else on earth.
