One of the most distinctive aspects of Namibia are the country’s dramatic landscapes, particularly the awe-inspiring topography of the Namib desert. In addition to being a breathtaking sight during the day, the absence of any light pollution in much of the region results in some of the world’s most magnificent starry nights. In the skies above Namibia, the heavenly bodies that make up our galaxy are on display in dramatic, colourful fashion. The Desert Skies Exhibit will use sand-covered floors and 360-degree 4k video displays to transport visitors to a simulated evening of stargazing in the Sossusvlei.
