The Cultural Heritage Exhibit will be a multi-functional gallery and performance space that will feature a rotating programme of art and photo exhibitions, fashion shows, musical performances and lectures. From the iconic hairstyles of the Himba people to the unique dress designs of the Herero women, the main narrative that will be expressed through this exhibit will be the story of how Namibia’s unique artistic and cultural heritage has evolved over time. Other themes to be presented could include the traditional graves of the kings of the Ovambo Kingdoms, the historic flute music of Sesfontein, and traditional crafts of the Damara people. The challenge of how to simultaneously support historical preservation while also nurturing innovation in a society is a sub-theme that will be explored.
