As a Namibian Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centre, Shalom Vocational Training Centre is endowed with front line specialized and professional Instructors who can train people and youths from varying backgrounds.

Through this site, Shalom Vocational Training Centre gives you information about its projects and courses. Shalom Vocational Training Centre has over 50 new admissions in various trades each year which incorporates males and females. Shalom Vocational Training Centre also runs a restaurant and woodwork on top of the Vocational Training Institution.

6 Months SHORT Courses

Short learning programmes are not registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF); hence they do not have NQF levels. They are designed to improve or refresh knowledge and skills in a particular field and for personal, social or professional development.

CLOTHING PRODUCTION

This course introduces the fundamental principles and techniques of Garment Construction. The Garment Construction course is for you if you would like to learn the introductory techniques of manufacturing a finished product.

You will learn the principles and practices that underpin the construction of basic garments focusing on : Machine operation and troubleshooting, Fabric, cutting and sewing fundamentals, Basic seams, Hems and finishes, Gathers and pleats, Waistband, collar and cuff attachment, Insert and patch pockets, Zip and button closures, Set-in sleeves

BASIC COMPUTER LITERACY

The Basic Computer Literacy course is designed to provide students with a basic knowledge of computer principles, hardware and software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. These skills will enable the health care professional to use computer equipment and programs in use in today’s health care industry.

Skills you will learn: Identify computing fundamentals such as computer hardware, and operating systems Web Apps and the Cloud, Understand Word Processing with Microsoft Word, Understand Spreadsheet Applications with Microsoft Excel, Understand Database Applications with Microsoft Access

HOSPITALITY (Commercial Cookery)

This course provides a combination of cookery, hospitality and managerial skills – giving you essential foundations in hospitality operations. It prepares you with the multiskilled ability to lead operations and manage teams within the dynamic experience industry.

Food knowledge will underpin your hospitality career and allow you to deliver a high quality service. Learning the foundations of strong kitchen management, combined with cookery skills, your holistic understanding of the hospitality sector will set you up for success in any kitchen.
