- Namibia is the only country in Africa that exports beef to both the United States and China. Although 46 meat processing plants in the world halted exports to China in 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Namibia did not, thereby exporting up to 973,000 tonnes to China in 2020, while export to the US is expected to top 5000 tonnes soon.
- In 2019, Namibia exported about 12,400 metric tonnes of meat to Norway, Britain, the European Union and Chinese markets.
- Namibian meat is well renowned for its world-class commercial meat industry that pursues international standards and Halaal compliance.
