Although 46 meat processing plants in the world halted exports to China in 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Namibia did not, thereby exporting up to 973,000 tonnes to China in 2020, while export to the US is expected to top 5000 tonnes soon.
• In 2019, Namibia exported about 12,400 metric tonnes of meat to Norway, Britain, the European Union and Chinese markets.
