Tour Plans

Day 1

Sesriem

As we come through the mountains we drop down from the central plateau to grassy desert savannah. Our Accommodation is situated in Solitaire itself. On arrival we check into our lodge and get comfortable with the surrounding nature of the Namib Desert.

Day 2

Solitaire Guest Farm / Camping (or similar )

Early start to catch the soft light of the sunrise over the desert. After passing through Sesriem gate we continue towards Sossusvlei with distant sand dunes along both sides of the road. We will stop at the famous Dune 45. Those who feel fit may climb the dune and get a breathtaking view of the surrounding desert and dunes. After breakfast we will take a desert walk in the cool of the morning at Deadvlei , with the chance of seeing gemsboks, springboks, black-backed jackals and ostriches. As the day cools down in the afternoon we will go on a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon.

Day 3

Swakopmund

Namibia is a country of contrasts. Today we will move from desert to sea. On our way we will cross the Tropic of Capricorn and traverse the Gaub and the Kuiseb passes, driving down to the dry river bed at the bottom of the Kuiseb Canyon before climbing up the other side, watching the spectacular desert landscape unfold before us. Having arrived at the coast, we will make a stop in Walvis Bay to enjoy the view of flamingos and other birds in the lagoons.

Day 4

Swakopmund

The rest of the day will be free with plenty of time to explore the town. Swakopmund is a very pleasant seaside town with lots of shops, a good stretch of beach (although the Atlantic is quite cold here) and an open-air curio market. There is also a very good museum and the Namibian National Marine Aquarium is located in Swakopmund. Alternatively, there are various optional activities that can be arranged. For example a boat-tour (with oysters and champagne!), scenic flights and micro-light flights over the desert, fishing trips (either from the beach or in a boat), quad-bike trips into the desert and over the sand dunes around Swakopmund, sandboarding, skydiving and many other activities. Your guide will discuss all the possible optional activities with you and offer to make pre-bookings in advance. (N.B. all extra activities in Swakopmund are subject to availability and are made at the client's own risk and expense). Dinner today is not included in the cost of the safari and will be at the client's own expense.

Day 5

White Lady Brandberg Lodge

We depart Swakopmund after breakfast to the inland of Damaraland . Damaraland is one of the most scenic areas in Namibia , a huge, untamed, ruggedly beautiful region that offers the more traveler a more adventurous challenge. Here there are prehistoric water courses with open plains and grassland, massive granite koppies and deep gorges. The White lady lodge is one of the few lodges in the Damaraland where chances are really high to see the Desert Elefants from a distance or if you are very lucky it might be on a close range . Kindly be advise to take care when walking from chalets to Lodge and back always stay in a group.

Day 6

Etosha National Park - Okaukujo Camp

A) Waking up with the smell of Good coffee and a great breakfast. We continue our journey to the famous part of Damaraland. Twyfelfontein , Twyfelfontein is a rocky site situated in the Kunene Region of north western Namibia . The site contains around 2,000 rock carving and the site is one of the largest and most important concentrations of rock art in Africa, and was proclaimed a National Monument in 1952. It is thought as many as 40 000 people a year now visit the site, making it one of the more popular tourist destinations in Namibia.

Day 7

Etosha National Park - Halali Camp

Today we will spend most of the day game driving. We will visit a number of waterholes and make a stop at the Etosha Pan, the “place of dry water”. The Pan is an extensive flat depression of about 5,000 km2. This great, white expanse is a place of shimmering mirages and seeing large herds of game in this setting makes Etosha a unique experience. We stop at Halali middle camp to check in and enjoy the afternoon before driving out by sunset for a quick drive to the neighbor waterhole for game viewing.

Day 8

Etosha National Park – Namutoni Camp

Today we will spend again most of the day game driving. We will visit a number of waterholes and make a stop at the Etosha Pan, the “place of dry water”. Namutoni is a restcamp on the edge of the Etosha pan in the Oshikoto Region in northern Namibia. It is one of the entrance gates to Etosha National Park. The most prominent structure at Namutoni is Fort Namutoni, built in 1896. It was originally a German Police post and, as part of the Red Line, a veterinary control point. The Red Line at that time extended to Okaukuejo in the west and Otjituuo in the east.[1] Later Namutoni was used to hold English prisoners in World War I. The original fort was destroyed in 1904 following the Battle of Namutoni and rebuilt a year or two later. Fort Namutoni was declared a National Monument in 1947 by the South West Africa Monuments Council

Day 9

Nkwazi Lodge and Camping

Game viewing continuous with an early start. We will continue from Etosha National Park through the eastern gate. Our Journey will take us about 5/6 hours driving to the Lodge, base on the banks of the Okavango River .

The Nkwazi Lodge is situated on the north-eastern Namibian town of Rundu. The lodge is set on the banks of the Okavango River, offering lovely views of the river. Nkwazi Lodge is set in large grounds and visitors will often be welcomed by one of the friendly peacocks.

Day 10

Ngepi Camp

Ngepi Camp is a unique and beautiful eco-lodge set amongst the flooded plains and swampy backwaters of the upper reaches of the Okavango Delta Panhandle in Namibia. It nestles between Mahango National Park,, a few kilometres to the south and Bwabwata National Park opposite across the river. The region is teeming with mammals large and small and stunning colourful birds.

The afternoon to join the Mokoro Trip . The Mokoro (also spelt makoro) is a type of canoe commonly used in the Okavango Delta; It is propelled through the shallow waters of the delta by standing in the stern and pushing with a pole, in the same manner as punting. Mokoro are traditionally made by digging out the trunk of a large straight tree, such as an ebony tree or Kigelia tree

Day 11

After breakfast we drive from Namibia slowly head into the Botswana Chobe National Park. Chobe National Park, in northern Botswana, has one of the largest concentrations of game in Africa. By size, it is the third largest park in the country, after the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and the Gemsbok National Park, and is the most biologically diverse. After spending the whole day at the falls we then will head back to our Accommodation and enjoy the sunset over the Namibian side of the Chobe River

The marriage of these creates a place where the two are brought together for those of us that seek adventure. This is a Lodge that combines the beauty of African nature and its wildlife, Elephant Sands. Guest can enjoy the rest of the day in the company of the African gentle Giants.

Day 14

Planet Baobab

The fun lodge that is Planet Baobab is situated on the Ntwetwe Pan’s edge, on the Maun–Francistown road near Gweta Town, in Botswana. Planet Baobab isn’t a new planet in our solar system – it must be one of the most original places you can stay at if you are visiting the Makgadikgadi Pans. This series of pans are the remains of what used to be a huge ancient inland ocean. The accommodation at Planet Baobab is truly original, reflecting the traditional building methods of the original inhabitants of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in Botswana. The afternoon bush walk awaits us to explore the nature of this Planet on foot.

Day 15

Trail Blazer

From Gweta , we continue to Kalahari Desert . We will be visiting the Bushman and they will take us on a educational guided walk .The walk takes about an hour and focuses on the beauty of the culture and the knowledge carried from one generation to the next.

The ancestors of the hunter-gatherer Sān are thought to have been the first inhabitants of what is now Botswana and South Africa. The historical presence of the San in Botswana is particularly evident in northern Botswana's Tsodilo Hills region. In this area, stone tools and rock art paintings date back over 70,000 years and are by far the oldest known art. Sān were traditionally semi-nomadic, moving seasonally within certain defined areas based on the availability of resources such as water, game animals, and edible plants.
